Modern platforms usually carry a myriad of sensors to create a good and versatile model of reality. Nonetheless, different sensors will provide data outputs that are different and misplaced from each other. Moreover, these sensors operate separately and do not utilize the capabilities of each other.

For example, the output of the dual vision sensor (two cameras) will be shifted and inconsistent with the output of the Lidar point cloud. These expensive sensors require expensive positioning unit (GPS/IMU) to orient themselves and will not take advantage of the unique properties of each other.

The Harmony software is based on advanced computer vision algorithms and create a synergetic sensing composition where each sensor takes advantage of the unique properties of the other sensor. The synergetic sensing composition improves each output dataset by using information from a different sensor to deliver an optimized version with higher accuracy and improved qualities.

Companies that produce integrated mapping platforms will be able to obtain high accuracy maps with inexpensive Lidar, with low-cost navigation system or even without using GPS.

The inherent redundancy of its components guarantees:

  • Improving the Cost-Performance balance for low-cost, automotive-grade lidar systems powered by consumer-grade inertial navigation devices
  • Sustainable operation within GPS-denied environment
  • Sub-pixel registration between complimentary lidar & optical features
  • Avoiding the requirement for lengthy acquisition times and meticulous flight planning that is typical in conventional mapping projects.

The scope of expertise of our team creates a synergy that allows us to take on even the most complex challenges. Our customers benefit from solutions that are not only theoretically sound, but also have proven themselves in realistic, complete and comprehensive cases.

We can conduct performance analysis of methods, systems and workflows in a wide variety of scenarios, thus identifying optimal zones and weak points (both in the method and its implementation) and providing solutions for them in early stages of the project.

HD-Mapping for Autonomous Cars

Client: The Smart Mobility Government Initiative

Project: Defining specifications for HD-mapping as a national infrastructure for autonomous car. In this research project, new technologies for autonomous driving were examined and their exact data requirement were defined.

Results: This project led to the development of set of novel national databases on 150 km of highways and roads. These databases were used by the smart transportation community to develop and test new innovative technologies.

Digital Camera Certification

Client: Survey of Israel

Project: Devising and writing new methodologies and software tools to test the quality and accuracy of new digital cameras for topographic mapping.

Results: This project led to the creation of guidelines for testing digital sensor (airborne and on UAV). Large number of sensors were examined and approved for mapping at different accuracy levels.

Tender Compillation & Management

Tennis Smart Court Design & Algo. Development

Client: Playsight Interactive LTD

Project: Playsight turns sports courts into permanent SmartCourt venues by providing live streaming, automated production, instant replay from many angles, player development tools, etc.. LMY has worked with Playsight from its inception and early stages helping in system design and algorithms development. Specifically LMY has provided valuable assistance in camera specifications and with the deployment of the camera sets across the court. Additionally, we have developed and shared our source code for RT camera stability, 3D ball and player tracking, positioning, visibility analysis, and outlier detection.

Technology: Matlab, LMY_Photosphere

Powered by the LMY Harmony fusion engine, the creation of highly accurate, robust, and flexible spatial products (geo-referenced imagery, colorized point clouds, 3D meshes, etc.) is made possible. Moreover, by smartly integrating consumer-grade cameras, lidars, and navigation devices, the Harmony not only maintains high product quality, but also allows to lower the system cost.

Production under restricted or completely absent GPS settings is achieved using true-scale opto-lidar photogrammetric block, which is automatically geo-registered by matching to a reference orthophoto,
